I became a teacher because I have always had a heart for kids, a love for serving others, and passion for science. Watching my students engaged and excited about learning keeps my heart full.

I have taught for 29 years, so I have had MANY memorable experiences throughout my career. At the top of my list would be teaching my forensic science students how to perform a pig autopsy. I wrote a grant which I was awarded to provide funding for my students to participate in this amazing hands on learning experience. It was incredible how engaged they were!

I would use $5000 of the money to purchase science lab materials for my school SGA . I would also like to provide my students with an amazing field trip experience such as Physics Day at 6 Flags. I would certainly pay off some bills, donate some to the local animal shelter, and take a trip to see my son who is in the US Army.
