Kids need role models and I thought I could be a positive one for my students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI was teaching 8th grade, American history. I used an example of me as the king of England & I was renting apartments to different students to show how colonies worked. The students asked why I was the king in the examples and I explained that “it's my room and I'm the king.” The students joked about getting me a crown. 3 years later, I was leaving the school to live to AZ, 2 of the students from that class came to say goodbye & pack up my room with me. They brought a crown which sits by my desk
What would you do with the $25,000?Spend time with family and friends. Work to ensure workers rights for educators and civil rights for students.
