I had some incredible teachers in my life who are still in my life today. I even still work alongside some of them. I have experienced firsthand the impact a teacher can have on one’s life, and I couldn’t imagine a better role to take on.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI feel that my most memorable teaching experiences aren’t always realized in the moment. But then you have a student come back or write you a letter about an exact moment when you changed their life in some way. And it might have felt small to you as the teacher, but it was everything to the child at the time. Those moments are the greatest reminders of why I do what I do.
What would you do with the $25,000?Well! I would certainly love to donate a portion to some local nonprofits I support, as well as use an amount for classroom needs. This would also greatly help with mortgage payments for my home!
