I became a teacher because I have a heart and passion for children, specifically those they may come from broken families, low-income households, or those marginalized based on race, ethnicity, or religion. It is a rewarding job for me because I know that I am able to make my students feel loved, seen, cared for, safe, valued, and appreciated. Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIt's difficult for me to only select one memorable experience. I feel touched by my students, their backgrounds, and their experiences every day. I love getting to the point in the year where students finally feel safe to open up to me about challenges they may be facing at home. From there, I'm able to take the steps needed to help and give back to those students. Doing so fills me with a sense of purpose that money or other material objects can't buy.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would donate some of the money towards our school to fund school supplies, backpacks, coats, clothes, shoes, and food for our students who need them. I would use the rest of the money towards starting a family. I am expecting a little girl June 2025.
