I want to be the voice for my students that tells them they can when everyone else tells them they can not.

I became a teacher because throughout my life I had several teachers from elementary to college that told me I was capable. I remember I hated reading because I had a lisp and a IEP for reading, my 6th grade teachers Mrs. Muran and Mrs. M showed me my love for reading. My my freshman teacher Mr. Carson showed me my love for math by Friday's were our NUMBERS days meaning we got to watch the show numbers. I had so many teachers believe in me and show me I was definitely capable.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience I was a sixth grade special education teacher and I had a student who refused to talk to me and allow me to help him. I became vulnerable with him shared my experience and showed him it's okay to be different and learn different then our peers. By the end of the year he bypassed his stretch goal and came to me and thanked be for believing in him.
What would you do with the $25,000?Honestly I would pay part of my student loans as well as put some away for my kids education because they deserve it.
