Tell us why you became a teacher

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I knew in my soul the classroom is where I belong, making an impact on youth. Teaching, mentoring & being a positive role model is something I hold very close to my heart. It was also a dream of mine as a young athlete to Coach. I am in year 8 of teaching 7th Grade Science, coaching Cross Country, Cheerleading, and Track & Field … and let me tell you- I love every fun, difficult, silly, exhausting, rewarding moment of it.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have memorable moments that I cherish every single day! But it’s not always moments that happening in the classroom. My first year students are currently half way through college- many of which have kept in touch with me. To see their growth & success knowing I was a part of their journey is truly a blessing. I feel this is what will make my entire career memorable for me when I eventually look back on it. My goal has always been to be as memorable to my students as they are to me!

What would you do with the $25,000?

$25,000 would change my life. So boring… but I would put it straight in my savings account!!! This year I will be 33 so of course my goal is to soon get married & start a family. I think the smartest thing for me to do would be to save it for my future!
