I became a teacher to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in our rural community. My goal is to inspire a love for learning, especially in science, and to create a school environment they genuinely enjoy. Above all, I aim to empower and encourage them to set ambitious goals and believe in their ability to achieve them.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceDuring a STEM day in science last year, I had students build paper marble runs. One student suggested to his group that they add support beams to stabilize their structure, and everyone praised his idea. The encouragement boosted his confidence, and he shared that he now wants to become a structural engineer! I love that he’s starting to see himself the way we see him!
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d like to pay off student loans and purchase new microscopes for our science lab!
