I was a stay at home mom for many years. I was blessed with the time to volunteer in my daughters kindergarten class and every time I was in their classroom (different years), the kindergarten teacher (my girls had the same kindergarten teacher) showed me the magic of teaching, the impact she had on creating a very strong educational foundation, watching the students have a-ha moments, productive struggles, giggles at story time, or having a 5 year old proudly present a science project.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have memorable moments every, single day as a kindergarten teacher! I am in awe of every student I have ever had because my little 5 year old scholars, some who went to preschool and some who did not, each bring a very unique personality to my classroom and I am honored to be a part of their lives, to help them build their knowledge, manage their feelings, give them hugs when they miss their mom, and teach them how to be great humans by coexisting harmoniously as a class family.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put all of the money into my children's college fund because education is highly respected and valued in my household. I come from a long line of educators, all women, who were teaching/working at a time in India when women did not work. Their passion for teaching and helping the world be a better, kinder place by opening their students eyes and minds, has always been firmly planted in my heart and soul. Teaching is my life and I would be so grateful for this money for my children!
