Teachers impact the trajectory of student lives. My passion is to aide them in seeing the best in themselves and getting them to dream big.

Prior to teaching, I was an executive doing supply chain management and under constant stress to exceed performance. While it was lucrative, I was miserable and realized that I was happiest when helping others. I have now been in the classroom for ten years, and my decision to shift careers is validated daily through sharing in "ah-ha" moments, receiving hand-drawn pictures from students, and emails from parents on growth occurring outside the classroom.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceNow is my most memorable moment, as we work through the impact of the Eaton Fire. Just like many of our families, our school is displaced. In a matter of weeks, we relocated and revised instruction. My classroom is now contained in a storage bin, but my connection with my students continues to grow. As we adapt, I find myself stepping outside my typical role to support my class. I am connecting resources, gathering donations, and providing comfort. All of which reinforces my why.
What would you do with the $25,000?I believe that education provides options for the future. I would like to provide continued educational opportunities for my own two children so that they can pursue their dreams, just like I try to inspire in my students. This money would aid that goal.
