I teach diverse students on all levels from autistic to academically gifted. The glow in their eyes when they have an ah ha moment.

I became a teacher because I wanted the day to day environment to be different. I did not want to be in a routine that I could complete in my sleep. Then the work was gratifying. Experience the unexpected and turning it into student enjoyment. As I worked with parents of children with disabilities, I became more engrossed in education to make learning diverse and obtainable by all.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable time teaching is when my students thought I was “Gina” off of the “Martin” show. I would purposely say comments she made on the show as I taught. The students would call me “Gina”. I would tell them that isn’t her real name. It didn’t matter. My name was Gina for a while. lol. I believe the students wanted to learn more from me just because they thought I was famous. Their scores increased along with their knowledge.
What would you do with the $25,000?Should I win $25,000, I would first be logical and pay a few bills. I would buy a few items for my school. My family would take a much needed vacation that would be fun with learning involved by visiting some museums. I have a son with learning challenges, I would seek more help for him. I would truly be grateful and appreciative.
