I decided to become a teacher by following in my sister’s footsteps, who taught me to value the small details, as they are the foundation of learning. My passion is to motivate and guide my students in learning a second language, such as Spanish and English. For me, teaching them that speaking two languages opens many doors for their future is deeply fulfilling. Seeing my students succeed and find their path fills me with pride and gratitude.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was when I saw my students achieve their goal of landing a job, despite the challenges they faced in life. I remember clearly when one student told me, "If it weren’t for your advice, I wouldn’t have gained the confidence to land my dream job." That moment made me realize how powerful the role of a teacher can be in shaping a student's future and self-esteem. It's a memory that reminds me why I became a teacher—to make a difference in their lives.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000, I would invest in dictionaries, school supplies, and resources to create an environment where my students feel welcomed with love, respect, and excitement. It would allow me to provide them with the tools and support they need to build their dreams and pursue their goals. Additionally, I would take them on cultural explorations to experience the world of languages, traditions, dreams, and hopes, expanding their horizons and fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures.
