Rachael Goddard

I love teaching junior high SPED because I get to help empower students. I love coaching because I get to push students to reach new limits.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I got to witness firsthand how amazing teachers can be in the life of students with special needs. After seeing how amazing so many teachers were to my three young siblings who are deaf were, I knew I wanted to be an amazing teacher for other students.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I love going into IEP meetings and helping make a plan for students so they can close gaps and grow in their education. In the classroom one of my favorite memories is getting “Reading Pens” in the classroom and teaching students how to have the pen read the words to them so they can actively participate on worksheets with their classmates when they normally can’t because of dyslexia or low reading levels. This brings them so much confidence.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000 I would payoff student loans, pay for my wedding (2026) and go on an amazing honeymoon with my soon to be husband who is also a teacher!
