Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOnce, during a lesson about going to the market, one of my students asked if an eggplant were cracked on its side, would its insides run out like an egg. This led to an unforgettable lesson I put together for the following day where I turned our classroom into “Mrs. Bedolla’s Farmers Market.” I brought in fruits and vegetables and set up a market where my students “shopped,” taste-tested, and practiced language arts and math skills extensively.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would definitely purchase classroom supplies and improve my classroom library. I would love to purchase STEAM materials to incorporate more hands-on learning experiences that promote problem solving and team building skills. Unfortunately, most all STEAM lessons require materials and tools that must be purchased out of pocket, which can get expensive, so $25,000 would help a great deal! Specifically, I’d love to have a class set of snap circuit kits and Lego Robotics kits.
