Tell us why you became a teacher

Little ones are only little for such a short while, and to be a part of that journey is a true privilege. It’s not just about imparting knowledge, but also about nurturing their growth, helping them to develop their confidence, and understand their potential. Each day I get to contribute to their joy and spark their curiosity. It’s such an important role, and one that I feel incredibly lucky to have.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had a student facing a learning challenge, though it was undiagnosed due to her age. She became aware of not being where her peers were and started questioning herself, losing confidence and motivation. Seeing this broke my heart so I made it a priority to build her self-esteem, help her recognize her strengths, and help her see that she is so much more than the challenge she is currently facing. Slowly, I watched her confidence blossom, and she began to see herself beyond that one challenge.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I truly love what I do, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Teaching has brought so much joy and growth into my life, both personally and professionally. However, the opportunity to secure financial comfort for my family would be incredibly valuable. As a teacher I’m always thinking about my students and their well being-it would allow me to pursue my passion with less stress, more stability, and a chance to help my family with peace of mind- which would mean so much.
