Funny thing is, I didn’t originally go to college to be a teacher, but after graduation, I realized I had missed my calling. I had a strong desire to work with children and have an impact on our future. Many family members of mine were educators and inspired me to make the switch to education. I am so glad I did because I can now not imagine doing anything else in life. It has become my passion.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was probably being nominated and voted Teacher of the Year at my campus. It was my prime 9th year of teaching and I loved creating engaging and authentic lessons for my students. I was voted Teacher of the Year after a tough year in the classroom, but it was a time I prevailed and overcame the hardships of that season. It was truly a rewarding experience that I’ll never forget.
What would you do with the $25,000?It’s exciting to think of the opportunity of winning a cash prize of $25,000. Being married to a teacher/coach and a mom of two teenagers, we would most likely use the money to save for college or to travel back to Italy for the summer. It would be a huge blessing to our family.
