Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because when I was younger, I had a teacher who believed in me. By her commenting on one English paper, keeping me after class to talk, encourage, and lift me up; I went from the “girl who didn’t belong” to the “girl that will make her own way, move over!” And that I did! Now on my 23rd year of teaching, I am battling Breast Cancer and will do the same thing “move on over, I am coming through to beat this!” Life is a series of challenges, and we teach to overcome 💕

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Honestly, we all have a story for this! But my answer is this: Each day, I get hugs and some very excited kids that love to see me. Their eyes shine & smiles light up the room; They know that I love them as much as they love me! Each unique day, for 23 years, has been memorable! I have 10 years left to enjoy these babies. I plan on doing this every single day!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Oh boy! Where would i not use $25k! I am a mom of 3 boys, and of course that money would always help there! But I am battling Breast Cancer so I would get to pay my OUT of Pocket & then be stress free from medical bills! Then, I would take my entire family to a tropical location to embrace my wins: win my battle with cancer and win this contest!!!!
