Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a real difference in children’s lives. Watching them discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and grow into their potential is truly magical. Their energy and curiosity inspire me daily, pushing me to be a better educator. My goal is not just to teach academics but to spark a love for learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I also strive to instill values like respect and resilience lessons that will carry them far beyond the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments as a Pre-K teacher was working with a class that amazed me every day. These little learners were so eager and curious, always asking questions and wanting to do more. I knew I had to step up and challenge them in new ways, so I created fun, hands-on activities that encouraged them to think, explore, and solve problems. The next year, nearly half of them were tested for gifted education! Seeing their excitement and growth reminded me exactly why I love teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I’d create an outdoor classroom where my little learners could explore, play, and learn in nature. I believe nature sparks curiosity; kids ask more questions and see the world differently. This space would be a hands-on wonderland for science, art, and problem-solving, inspiring creativity and adventure. Every day would be a journey of discovery that lights up their imaginations.
