Teaching lets me serve like Jesus—leading with love, grace, and purpose to make a difference in my students’ lives.

I became an educator because I believe teaching is a calling, not just a career. Jesus is the greatest teacher of all time, and I want to reflect His love, patience, and compassion in my classroom every day. I see education as a way to serve others, to plant seeds of hope and encouragement, and to help each child know they are deeply loved and created with purpose.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was with a student who struggled with reading and often shut down. The year before, he had intense behavioral challenges, but I focused on building trust and understanding his needs. Over time, he began to thrive. Meeting his emotional needs helped unlock his potential. His growth reminded me that every child’s mental and emotional well-being is key to their success—and that compassion can truly change everything.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were blessed with the $25,000, I would pour it back into my community. From classroom resources to student needs, local outreach, and support for families, I want to use every dollar to reflect the love of Jesus—lifting others up and planting seeds of hope where they’re most needed.
