Tell us why you became a teacher

Since I was a kid, I already dreamed of becoming a teacher. To our family, becoming a teacher is a success everyone could ever have. We have a high regard to all the teachers. But because of our socioeconomic status, at first, we find it very impossible to become one. With my parents' persistence, motivation, love, and compassion, I successfully graduated my high school with flying colors which led me to many opportunities of becoming a scholar. Fortunately, I finished my degree as a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have a lot of memorable experiences in my teaching journey. One of those that truly etched my heart was when I started teaching at one of the public schools in the Philippines where I had 62 students in one class with the most deprived group who were all non-readers and whose family were really struggling economically, and they couldn't even afford to send their kids every day to school. Together with my family, we used to bring food to my students just to motivate them going to school.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would buy some learning materials for my students to enhance their skills and to motivate them more in their studies. At the same time, I wanted to extend help to my less fortunate families and friends.
