I love teaching because I love children and want to help them navigate their way through this world socially, emotionally, and academically.

I became a teacher because it's the only thing I've ever wanted to do. Caring for children is my calling. Past jobs include babysitter, tennis coach, day care provider, and camp counselor. There is rarely a time in my life where I haven't worked with children. I want to give young people a safe space where they feel loved and heard. I want to help them make sense of their world and give them the support, tools, and knowledge they need to reach their goals.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe most memorable are the moments when a student is struggling and I'm able to support them. It might be the time they are angry and need help regulating their emotions. Or the time when the "lightbulb" turns on and the student understands the concept. Or the time they need a hug and safe space to be. The best moments are when I can tell a student feels good about themselves and their abilities.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to pay for needed repairs on my home and pay off my medical bills. I would (hopefully) go on a vacation or have a spa day.
