Tell us why you became a teacher

First and foremost, my mother, who is also a teacher, has been an incredible role model for me. Over the years, I've learned so much from her, and I'm fortunate that we now teach at the same school- a truly special experience. Beyond that, I have a deep love for children. I truly believe there is no profession more impactful than teaching. Knowing I play a role in shaping their future, brings me immense fulfillment. Teachers hold such an essential place in society, and I'm honored to be one!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I feel incredibly fortunate to work at such an amazing school- one that I had the privilege of attending myself from preschool through 8th grade. Adding to the magic of this experience, my teaching partner was my second grade teacher and my favorite teacher growing up. Now having the opportunity to teach alongside her is both unique and profoundly special. Second grade was such a magical time for me as a child, thanks to her, and being able to recreate that same joy now is unforgettable!

What would you do with the $25,000?

As a teacher, I do have some personal debt to pay off- primarily from my education and the challenges of managing day-to-day expenses on a teacher's salary. That said, once I've made progress on that, I would love to travel- one of my greatest passions! I would love to take my mom to Ireland, a place she's always wanted to visit or embark on a hiking adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia. I would also dedicate a portion of the money to help children in difficult situations.
