I became a teacher to provide a space for kids to learn, be themselves and create positive connections! I want to be the teacher that motivates students, that encourages them to go after their goals and to truly be their #1 fan.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe moment that a student came up to me and said “I love you Ms. McCarty” and I said “well I love you too, where did that come from?” And he said “I don’t know I just feel loved and like I needed to say it”. I broke down in tears right in that moment because that is one of my goals, making kids feel loved!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would first put it towards paying off my schools lunch debt and then would focus on building my classroom for kids. I would fill my classroom with tools and items that meet all different learning styles and abilities.
