I became a teacher because I want to help children learn to love school and I want to help them achieve at their greatest potential.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy 1st year teaching, I had a 2nd grader that was way behind in reading. We worked very hard and had him reading at the grade level by Christmas time. I called his parents to have a meeting about test scores. I remember showing them the growth and all of us crying, including the student. Greatest moment of my career.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would put some money towards my student loans, put money into my children's college funds and I would take my children on an actual vacation, which is difficult on a teacher's salary.
