I love strengthening students’ opportunities to strive for their best work and get their individual talents known within our community.

My love for teaching started at a young age with my brother who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. I always enjoyed watching him learn new concepts and how he would interact socially with the world around him. Once I reached middle school, I would take any opportunity I could to volunteer to assist younger students as well as support coaching Challenger little league in high school. My Uncle Jonathan was an inspiration who taught me how people can communicate without the use of voice or sign.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI will never forget the time a parent came to me and told me that I gave her hope when doctors told her otherwise. I live by the belief that every day and moment is a new day and moment and to never underestimate the capabilities of a child and their willingness to communicate, learn and become a productive member of their community.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would split the $25,000 between all of the paraprofessionals who work with me who help make our students' worlds turn. I do not take them for granted and appreciate everything they do to provide the best school environment for our students.
