Ever since I can remember, I've enjoyed helping people. Teaching is an amazing profession because it allows me to share my passions with students, staff, and community members in a positive way. Humans are social beings, and oftentimes, our core memories come from those who have selflessly poured their energy into our lives. My goal in teaching is to show those I reach that they matter and have unlimited potential!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is about a student I had five years ago. After encouraging him to join my cross-country team, I learned about his struggles during our long runs. Later, when he stopped attending school, I reached out weekly to check on him. He eventually returned, passed my class, and graduated. Last year, I saw him at a former students' wedding, and he told me I was the reason he graduated. Moments like that define what being an educator means to me!

What would you do with the $25,000?

With five young children, $25,000 would be life-changing for my family. It would allow me to give back to them in meaningful ways—whether through occasional weekend getaways or ensuring my kids can pursue the activities they love without us having a financial worry. This prize would be a way to thank my wife and kids who have supported me throughout my journey as an educator, helping me balance the roles of teacher and parent while building unforgettable memories together.
