I was a camp counselor as a high schooler and had a camper with Downs Syndrome. Her name was Emily. Working with her opened my eyes to how much I absolutely loved working with children. I continued my journey the following summers where my love grew.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have been teaching for 15 years, it is so hard to pick just one. I’d have to say, it’s more of a feeling I get when a student has an ah-ha moment or true realization of learning. Over the years, I’ve taught kids to read, compute math skills, become scientists, and even code for the 21st century.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would book a summer cruise for my family. My oldest daughter moved out and I want to have a whole family vacation. We can’t afford a vacation like this otherwise. Everything left over would go to paying off debts.
