Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a kindergarten teacher because I want to help kids grow into strong, resourceful, and confident individuals. Early learning isn’t just about letters and numbers—it’s about problem-solving, perseverance, and adapting to challenges. I love guiding kids to think for themselves, try new things, and find creative solutions. Watching them build independence, kindness, and resilience reminds me why this work matters every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was when I taught my kindergarteners the word persevere. Later that day, I heard a student on the playground struggling on the monkey bars say, “I just have to persevere!” It was a perfect reminder of why I love teaching—not just for academics, but for life skills. Seeing a child take a lesson beyond the classroom and apply it in real time was incredibly rewarding and showed me how much these moments truly stick.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I’d use it to travel and gain new experiences that broaden my perspective. Exploring different places, cultures, and ways of life helps me bring fresh ideas and energy into the classroom. Whether it’s visiting a new city, immersing myself in nature, or simply stepping outside my routine, travel allows me to recharge and return as a more well-rounded teacher for my students.
