I became an educator to empower students, foster curiosity, and make learning meaningful. Growing up, I saw the impact of great teachers and wanted to inspire others the same way. I believe every student deserves access to knowledge, opportunities, and someone who believes in them. Education is more than content—it's about building confidence, critical thinking, and a love for learning. My goal is to create an equitable, engaging environment where all students can thrive.

One of my most meaningful teaching experiences was taking my 5th graders from urban Baltimore to the Sandy Spring Slave Museum & African Art Gallery in my hometown. It enriched their reading unit, deepening their understanding of history. Beyond the lessons, they experienced the joy of rural suburbia—running barefoot in a vast field, playing freely. Seeing their excitement, learning, and pure joy reminded me of the power of education to expand perspectives and create lasting memories.

I would use it to enhance student learning by purchasing hands-on science lab materials, social studies resources, and interactive technology. I would also pay down student loans, reducing financial burdens so I can focus on making an impact in education. Additionally, I’d invest in cultural enrichment through travel and set aside funds for self-care. Lastly, I’d give back to my family and friends, creating lasting memories with those who matter most.
