Jennie Ming

I love teaching; it is a blessing to see and hear young minds at work. Teaching is a joy; by God, any child can become great in my class.

Tell us why you became a teacher

Originally, I was going to enlist in the armed forces, but my mother asked me not to. She was a childcare provider since I was about 8 years old. I remembered teaching the little ones she had at our house, which is what she reminded me about when I chose this career path.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when my former principal asked me to step out of my comfort zone and teach boomwhackers. I was nervous and excited; the joy was to see how much my students loved it!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would tithe, pay off my student loan, put some on the side to purchase a home for my family, and buy Chromebooks for my classroom (we don’t have a class set).
