School is what provided me with community that I yearned for as a young learner. It gave me sports, it introduced me to a mentors that cared about me on both the classroom side and coaching side. As a Health teacher and coach today, I want to continue to be the influence that made me fall in love the community that was built for me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience has been the students that come to visit me after they’ve had me in class recently or years ago and still feel that I am a safe space to confide in and make me feel like I’ve had a lasting impact on them as a person. Some of them are on the path to becoming future educators!
What would you do with the $25,000?- pay off a chunk of my student loan debt - put some toward my master’s degree in administration - down payment for our first house - take my wife and 2 year old son on vacation
