My passion has always been guiding the children of the future, just like Whitney Houston sang about. Teaching, empowering, supporting, and embracing each individual to reach their potential academically, socially, and even more important these days, emotionally.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have been so lucky to work in the same school district for the past 18 years. I have focused my attention on creating an environment that provides my students with a safe haven. Surrounding them with calm walls, inviting aromas, and cool yet vibrant lighting are just a few of the ways that I help use their senses to enrich their experiences. Providing them with this safe place has supported their individuality while being able to teach them skills about self advocating and social awareness.
What would you do with the $25,000?This money could be put to great use by helping the community to simply be kind. I believe in a world where kindness is a choice and one that can make the largest impact possible! So let’s spread some kindness and provide more outdoor activities like soccer nets and basketball nets to our students providing more ways to positively interact with each other.
