I love teaching because I love creating relationships and memories with my students through hands-on activities and students' interest.
Thank you for supporting Emily Sloboda in this year's competition. Your donations and participation will benefit The Planetary Society in their mission to advance space exploration, inspire discovery, and empower the next generation of innovators.
I became a teacher because I want to inspire the next generation to become future astronauts, pilots, teachers, doctors, president, etc. I had teachers that inspired and encouraged me to become a teacher. I want my classroom to be a safe space where my students can be free to express themselves and also feel at home.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many memorable teaching experiences that I have had. One of the most memorable teaching experiences that I have had was planting bean seeds with my fourth grade students. I loved seeing their excited faces while they were planting their seeds and watching them grow. I could see the connections forming in their eyes as they remembered what we learned about the life cycle of plants, types of roots, and parts of plants.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I had $25,000, I would use part of the money to pay off my student loans. I would give some of the money to my parents for all they did to provide me with the best education (private schools and college). Also, I would use it to get resources for my classroom that would benefit my students' academically and socially.
