I wanted to give back to the community I came from! I wanted to be a positive force in a negative world. I wanted to show my students critical thinking skills so they can be de-programmed of the “obedient worker” programming. I wanted to create free thinkers and entrepreneurs.I also wanted to teach all aspects of history. Women and minorities are often left out of history.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching moment was when I had a parent cry to me telling me how far her child has come due to his health and personal struggles! She told me I was a big influence on why her child grew scholastically. It put a a big smile on my face knowing I helped make a change in a students life !
What would you do with the $25,000?A Part of the class I teach now is financial literacy , so I’d take 1/2 and divide it into stocks, CD accounts, and savings. I’d take the remainder of the money and divide that in 1/2. I’d use part of that money on my classroom and students and I’d use the last half for leisure activities .
