I feel blessed to have been granted patience, understanding, passion, and love necessary to nurture and guide our young learners. Each day brings a new opportunity to inspire and be inspired by my students.

During my time teaching at a Title 1 school, I encountered a student whose family needed more support than just academic guidance. I organized a collection of food and clothing, which brought them joy during tough times. Later, I covered the cost of an iPad repair, easing their financial burden over the holidays. These experiences deepened my belief that teaching is my calling, reminding me that our mission goes beyond academics to encompass values like appreciation and selflessness.

If I were to win $25,000, it would truly be a blessing for my family. With a husband in the army and two teenagers in school, life is wonderful yet challenging. I chose teaching not for the financial rewards, but because it is my calling. My children often ask why I pursued this profession, knowing the financial aspects. I always respond that this is what God intended for me! If I won I would pay off debt, save some for my children’s college, and provide a down payment on a family car.
