In middle school, I had a teacher that changed my life. She made me feel important, seen, and, most importantly, loved. I thought that if I could help even one student feel that way, then in a way, I would be paying that teacher back for how she helped me. I hope I've accomplished my goal.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceHow can I even pick one? Every single kiddo I've had has given me a most memorable moment. It could be the numerous students that have given me something they drew for me. It could be the kids that ask me to raise my hand to the sky so they can jump and high five it. Or it could be the kids that say "Love you too" when I end every class with "Love you, bye!" Each moment is so incredibly special to me.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to be able to give back to the students that fill the bright spots of my life. That kind of money could help fund programs that our community needs. My mind immediately jumps to our band, art, and drama departments. Those kiddos could use some love.
