Do you remember that one teacher who helped you out and made you feel comfortable? That’s why I became a teacher to give students that provided safe and encouraging environment. I will always remember my first grade teacher who encouraged me to go far even when I was having hard times in school and out of school. I want to help students find their voice and to remind them bad days can always be flipped around when we’re giving it our best!

My most memorable teaching experience would have to be everytime I touch a students heart. I have third graders who come to see me from 3 years ago just to come in and say thank you for teaching them how to read. They also come in and ask to have lunch with me still.

With this opportunity I would want to keep pouring into my title 1 school. I constantly am providing things for my students to keep the environment supported and filled with meaningful memories while learning. I would want to give back to the students and help other wonderful teachers at our school. This could be used to go towards field trips, materials needed (examples: headphones, tissue, wipes, incentives, etc.) and some awesome shirts for students!
