I love teaching personal finance because it empowers students to utilize the greatest tool in wealth-building: time. It’s never too early!

I became a teacher because nothing is more rewarding than helping young people discover their full potential. Over my two decades in the classroom, their curiosity and genuine passion for learning have inspired me, brought out the best in me, and given me hope in a world full of challenges and inequity. Every day, they remind me that the future is truly bright.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy teaching career has been a blessed one, with countless amazing students and families. The true highlight, however, is seeing my lessons come full circle. Nothing exemplifies this more than being asked to join the board of The Jadyn Davis Foundation, a nonprofit founded by my former 8th-grade math student aimed at serving children from underprivileged communities. It was an incredible honor and a reminder of the lasting relationships and impact we, as teachers, have on our students’ lives.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would allocate the $25,000 prize in three meaningful ways. First, I’d invest a portion in my children’s future education. Second, I’d contribute to an investment fund I started at my school to empower student entrepreneurs and investors with hands-on financial literacy. Last but not least, I’d donate to The Jadyn Davis Foundation, where I proudly serve as a board member, to support its mission of serving underprivileged children.
