Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to be a positive role model for students who may not have support. Teaching is more than academics; it’s about building relationships and creating a safe space. I love learning about my students and helping them grow. Being there for them, listening, and encouraging them is a priority. I want to inspire confidence and resilience. Knowing I can make a difference in their lives motivates me every day to be the best teacher I can be.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was with a student who initially hated school. Every morning, he would count down the days until the weekend, showing little interest in learning. I made an effort to connect with him, learning about his interests and finding ways to make school more enjoyable. By the end of the year, he not only loved school but also enjoyed his work. He even played “school” at recess, pretending to be the teacher.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would put some toward paying off my student loans and invest in resources to enhance my classroom for my students.
