I love teaching because I get to support and inspire my students, especially those with special needs, and see them grow and achieve daily

I became a teacher because I understand the power of a supportive educator. Growing up in an unstable environment, I experienced firsthand how teachers provide hope, stability, and encouragement. Their guidance helped me overcome adversity and showed me the importance of a safe, nurturing space for learning. Inspired by their impact, I chose to teach so I can offer my students the same security, motivation, and belief in their potential—no matter their circumstances.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was helping my 5th-grade science students reach 70% proficiency last year. I took on a teacher leader role, using extracurricular time for targeted interventions to close learning gaps. Seeing their progress was rewarding, but the most meaningful part was when students told me how much I meant to them and the difference I made in their lives. Moments like these remind me why I became a teacher and inspire me to keep making an impact.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000 as America’s Favorite Teacher, I would invest in enriching my students’ education by providing better resources and support. I would also use a portion to further my own education by pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership. This would allow me to grow as an educator, develop my leadership skills, and ultimately make a greater impact on students, teachers, and the education system as a whole.
