Becoming a teacher is one of the most fulfilling decisions I’ve ever made. I chose this profession because I am passionate about inspiring young minds and playing a role in shaping their academic and personal growth. Teaching goes beyond imparting knowledge; it’s about fostering curiosity, instilling values, and building connections that last far beyond the classroom. My love for teaching stems from the rewarding experience of watching children grow, both academically and emotionally.

Teaching kindergarten in an inner-city school during COVID-19 was challenging due to a lack of supplies, Wi-Fi, and devices. However, it was rewarding to see the community come together. I helped organize food distributions, delivered books and work packets, and donated used laptops. Despite the difficulties of teaching online, I worked one-on-one with a struggling reader, helping him reach grade level in just three months. It was tough but rewarding to make a real impact on my students.

If I won $25,000, I would enhance my students’ education by bringing a hands-on experience, like a traveling aquarium or science assembly, to our school. This would spark curiosity and inspire a love for learning. I’d also use part of the money to pay off bills, reducing financial stress and allowing me to focus more on my family and teaching. With less worry, I could be a more present educator and parent, creating lasting positive impacts on my students and my personal life.
