Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always been passionate about helping others learn and grow. There's something incredibly fulfilling about watching a child understand a concept, build confidence, and achieve their goals. Teaching allows me to make a positive impact on my students, inspire curiosity, and foster a love for learning. I believe education shapes the future, and being a part of that process is both a privilege and a responsibility.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was when a former student, now an adult, shared that he still remembered a stuffed Martian I sent home with him in first grade. I had asked him to write about it, and that simple assignment had a lasting impact. He told me it inspired him to enjoy writing, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. It was a powerful reminder of how small gestures can leave a lasting impression and shape someone's future.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had an extra $25, 000, I'd focus on financial security for my family. I'd set aside a portion for an emergency fund to cover unexpected expenses. I'd consider setting up a special needs trust for my child with Down Syndrome to help secure his future. I'd use some for my kids' college expenses, helping reduce their student debt. Additionally, I’d contribute to retirement savings, ensuring long-term stability, and pay down any high-interest debt to reduce financial stress.
