When I see the progress students make from the time they start with me to when they leave me, it brings a level of joy that’s inexplicable.

When I was 18 years old, I had my first child. I knew then that I wanted to work in a field that allowed me to be home with him in the evenings and on the weekends. I also babysat as a teen enjoyed being around children; especially younger children. Their eagerness to learn new things, curiosity, and imagination, remind me that the world can be a beautiful place. What an honor it is for me to be able to feed into those great characteristics and help set the tone for their educational journey!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI think my most memorable teaching experience was when I was correcting students who weren’t making good choices. I am known to tell my students if they’re upset, they can take deep breaths to help them calm down. While correcting these student students, another student said, “Ms. Sims, take a deep breath”.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000, I would finally be able to get caught up on bills and get ahead. This would be a huge blessing to me and my children. I would also take them on a very nice well-deserved vacation!
