I became a teacher after my brother was diagnosed with Autism. I saw him show such growth through his therapists and teachers. I then began working in the Autism field as an RBT. I was placed at a school in Galt (the one I currently work at) and absolutely fell in love with teaching. I loved it so much and wanted to make an impact on students and make inclusion a priority.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEvery winter break party I have with my students, we eat pancakes and do a gift exchange and I absolutely love this moment to be with the kids and share our joy! We can be silly, talk about things we are grateful for and enjoy each other. My students are sometimes with me for many years so we build great connections!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off my debt and reinvest into my students by purchasing supplies/technology for my classroom.
