Tell us why you became a teacher

My grandma was very into our education. She showed us the importance of it and she always pushed us to learn. She was actually the one who told me that my education can never be taken away from me and she inspired me to become the teacher I am today!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experience has to be with a very difficult student I had. At the beginning of the year, she would come in screaming, kicking, and cussing. She had to be dragged into the classroom pretty much every day. As time went on and with doing this every day, something changed. I gave her lots of love (lots of tough love as well) and now she loves coming to school! She tells me all the time she doesn't want to leave, she's excited to be here everyday and that she loves me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I love to spoil my students, so I think part of the money would go to them-the school I am at doesn’t have a music class or technology, so I would love to help pay for that. I would also love to use some of it to travel. I think traveling is the best way to learn about others as well as the world around us!
