After spending 20 years in the creative industry, I made the transition to teaching. My goal was to offer students the kind of support and guidance I wish I had during my own high school art experience, and better equip them for a creative career after graduation.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEvery day is memorable simply by listening to my students. Being honest and empathetic toward their experiences is crucial, especially since high school can be challenging. Kindness is easy, and fostering this connection has allowed me to build strong relationships in the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?This would ultimately help pay to complete my Masters of Education program, purchase some aesthetic upgrades to my classroom, and allow me to provide more opportunities for students to learn their craft and prepare them for a creative life after High School.
