Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to be the safe space I know many students need. Helping children grow emotionally and academically is the most meaningful work I could do. One supportive adult can change a child’s entire path. I want to be that person who helps students believe in themselves.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was helping a student who struggled to express their emotions finally open up and feel safe in the classroom. Watching their confidence grow and seeing them realize their feelings mattered reminded me why I chose this path. Moments like that show me that teaching isn’t just about academics—it’s about helping children believe in themselves.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would invest in resources that support my students’ social and emotional well-being while also creating stability in my own life so I can continue showing up fully for them. Teaching is more than a job, it’s a commitment to helping children feel seen, safe, and capable of achieving anything. I would give them the dream Classroom they always wanted and help the students who struggle daily.
