I became a teacher to be the adult I needed as a child. I want to be a safe space for kids as much as I want to be the teacher they’ll remember years down the road. But most of all I became a teacher to keep learning.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI was a T.A to a third grade class, I was still undecided on what I wanted to do with life when I was paired with a group of girls only speaking Spanish. I was to teach them English. At the end they said I would make a great teacher and I re-enrolled in school the following semester.
What would you do with the $25,000?I currently work at a daycare center that is low funded. I would put the money into it. The kids deserve new things not just community hand me downs.
