I became a teacher because of my mom’s relentless hard work and sacrifices. She showed me the power of perseverance and the value of education. Her strength inspires me to create opportunities for my students. Others have told me I’m an inspiration, and I’ve embraced that responsibility. I teach not just to share knowledge, but to encourage, uplift, and help students believe in themselves, just as my mom taught me to do.

My most memorable teaching moments aren’t about test scores, but about connection. I’ve shared my struggles, my mom’s sacrifices, and lessons about resilience—and my students listened. Later, they told me they applied those stories to their own challenges. They didn’t just learn content; they learned perseverance. Seeing them grow through my experiences reminds me that teaching is about impact, not just instruction.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would move closer to my goal of earning my Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, strengthening my ability to design meaningful learning experiences. I would invest in resources that allow my students to truly experience science—hands-on labs, innovative materials, and real-world opportunities. This support wouldn’t just fund my growth; it would expand possibilities for every student I serve.
