Tell us why you became a teacher

I want to make a difference. Not only in helping the future of this world become smart and educated people. I also wanted to make sure that I can help shape my students into the people that they are proud to be.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences happened this year. I was talking about chemical and physical changes. I did a mixture of vinegar and baking soda and my students had asked me if it was hot or cold after the reaction happened. I fall on, stuck my finger in the solution and screamed, pretending it was hot, when really it was cold. Yes I scared my students a bit, but they were all laughing shortly after realizing that the solution was actually cold.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I wanna make sure that the books that I have in my classroom library are in good shape and have multiple copies of some of them. I would love to update my flexible seating not only as a reward, but as a sturdy seating placement for my kids who need to get away from their desk when they need to. I wanna make sure I can get a science kit for my classroom that I have all the labs that I need for the year to make science more engaging.
