Tell us why you became a teacher

It is a highly needed field, and these days, I feel that education is very important as kids need quality education in order to set them up for success. I believe that teachers are like gardeners, and students are just like plants that are growing in the garden. Our job is to help them grow, and give them useful knowledge. I have dreamed a lot about being a teacher since I was a child.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I started as a preschool teacher, and the most memorable moment of my teaching experience is that I got to share my cultural background with my students. I am originally from the People’s Republic of China, and there are a lot of great cultural traditions that I wanted to bring to the table. Therefore, I started telling them a lot about Chinese New Year, and the kids were curious, and they are very into the topic. It really made my day when I was answering their questions, this was memorable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I have the $25000, I will get myself a new car.
